The Concept

The FarmHouse Reality Tv Show is a comprehensive Agriculture Training, Advocacy and Mentoring programme delivered on an entertainment platform. Our objective is to stimulate, create awareness and redirect the attention of the youthful population of Nigeria to the tremendous potentials and opportunities in Agriculture using Entertainment as a delivery channel.

“Some men see things as they are and say why? I dream of things that never were and say why not?”

– George Bernard Shaw

The rationale behind the concept is underpinned by multiple factors. However, none was more important than the ‘sense of urgency’ of the impending ‘food insecurity’ in the country as well as the predicament of unemployed Nigerians especially the estimated 500,000 graduates that enter the labour market every year.

The Audition and Selection process

Six locations will be selected across major cities in the Country

The judges in the selection process will include three to five reputable and famous Nigerians

Applicants will discuss or present the reasons or basis why they should be admitted as housemates

Opening night at the FarmHouse

This will be done and transmitted before a live audience made up of invited guests & key stakeholders including celebrities; representatives of government agencies and ministries; private sector and mass media.

Admission into the FarmHouse

At the final round, qualifying applicants from the six centers, will go through a screening process from which the final 50 housemates will be selected.

“The future of our young people does not belong at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. It lies in us tapping their talents and putting our resources to support them. Agriculture is the future for Africa. We must make agriculture exciting for the youth; and we must stop looking at agriculture as a way of life, as a sector that manages poverty. Agriculture is a business, in fact, it is the biggest business in the world.”

– Professor Akinwumi Adesina (President, African Development Bank)
